Feature

What makes the room control so special

With the intelligent smart home system for hotels, there are no limits to your desires. Discover now which unique features the intelligent room control for heating in hotels offers, taking over your everyday work and simplifying your life as a hotelier. Increase the energy efficiency of your hotel and promote sustainability. Of course, you decide for yourself whether to use all features or not.

Day and night setback

With day and night setback, the room temperature is regulated at certain times.. At night, when guests are sleeping, or during the day, when your guests are typically not in the room, the room temperature is adjusted. Via web access, you define fixed times during which the temperature is lowered by the software. For example, better.energy always lowers the room temperature to 19 °C between 11:00 pm and 06:00 am.

Heating depending on the occupancy plan

The PMS system reports to the smart control whether a hotel room is occupied. If the room is occupied, better.energy automatically adjusts the temperature and heats the hotel room. Empty rooms are automatically kept at an efficient temperature level by the heating control. Thus, the rooms do not cool down or are heated unnecessarily. This saves energy and reduces the workload for hotel staff, as the radiator thermostats do not need to be checked manually.

Temperature limits

You can also set temperature limits. Define what the maximum temperature in the hotel room and other public areas may be and what the minimum temperature must be. Even if hotel guests manually turn the heating to the highest level, the defined maximum temperature will not be exceeded. The heating control automatically regulates the thermostats back to the predefined values should a guest turn up the heating.

Real-time check-in and check-out

If better.energy is connected to the PMS system in the hotel, the smart heating control adjusts the room temperature in real time during check-in and check-out. When a guest checks in, the information is reported to the appropriate radiators in the hotel room. The controller then knows that it must heat the room temperature to a predefined level. When a guest checks out, the smart better.energy controller automatically reduces the radiators in the hotel room.

Open window detection

The software detects open windows in the hotel room and adjusts the heat output accordingly. If a window is open, better.energy registers the temperature drop in the hotel room and notifies the smart thermostat to stop heating the room. When the window is closed again, the radiator continues to heat automatically. Unnecessary heating with open windows is thus a thing of the past.

Intelligent algorithms
30 minutes

The temperature in the bathroom is kept at the set temperature for 30 minutes and after that time lowered again to the pre-set limit.

Open window detection

Open windows are detected and the heating/cooling is automatically adjusted.

Heating profile

The temperature is regulated according to a pre-defined and fixed profile according to the time of day and night.

Light activation / deactivation

On the check-in day the light is switched on at a preset time and off on the check-out day at a predefined time.

Daytime setback with optional offset

During a predefined period at the day time the temperature is lowered to a certain level or changed by offset.

Night setback with optional offset

The temperature is lowered at night and raised again in the morning by setting either predefined temperatures or using a fixed offset.

Saving the desired temperature

If a room is defined as a bedroom or living room, the system remembers the temperature that the guest has set as the desired temperature.

Upper and lower temperature limits

The desired temperature is maintained in an interval. If it is changed to a temperature outside the limits, it is automatically reset.

Standard temperature

Every day at the pre-set check-in times the desired temperature is reset to the default value.

Pre-heating if occupancy is uncertain

The room is preheated for possible occupancy.

Detection of errors

The thermostats detect errors. The thermostats then adjust the heat output and you will receive a notification.

PMS connection
Occupacy schedule

With a PMS connection, occupied rooms are recognized and heated/cooled according to the pre-set temperature. The temperature in vacant rooms is lowered to an efficient pre-set.

Early check-in/check-out

The temperature is raised/lowered with a delay after check-in or lowered early before check-out.

Realtime check-in/check-out

Actual arrival/departure at the hotel is used for intelligent heating/cooling during check-in/check-out.

Warnings, maintenance & statistics
Manufacturer independent control

The intelligent room management system can be implemented in any hotel, no matter which kind of central heating you use.

Warnings

The thermostats notice when consumption deviates from normal conditions and send warning messages.

Individual energy reports

Individual reports are created based on your current energy consumption.
